TOPIC: IT IS FINISHED

TEXT: John 19:28-30

All the work of man's salvation was finally finished while Jesus Christ hanged on the cross. Salvation from sin, all forms of oppressions, frustration, sicknesses, calamities, defeats and afflictions were hanged on the cross with Jesus Christ while he was there. At the cross all was completed. Beloved, I say it is finished. The cross you see today is empty, and that is a sure sign of victory.
Do you know why?
John 3:14-15, 12:27-33 predicted the death of Jesus on the cross which will draw all men to him. Every time you see or point at the cross, you point at the defeat of Satan and all ordinances that were against us. When Satan planned the death of Jesus on the cross, it was the greatest mistake he ever made. It was at the cross that victory took place.
When Jesus died on the cross, you died with him, it was there he carried away all our iniquities, Isaiah 55:4-10. If you have given hour life to Christ then it means you are dead.
Galatians 2:20 says you have been crucified with him on the cross.
Col.2:13 says you were dead but now you have been made alive together with him. Really if you did not die with him you just can't be alive with him. You are still in your very old self.
Col.2:20, now if you died, why are you still living with and by the principles of the world. How? You depend on what people and the society say before you act.
When you accept that you are dead your thinking and attitudes to life will completely changed and be directed by the living Christ. Christ died and you also died with him. What we are doing today is to remember what he has already done and to celebrate our victory in him.
Romans 6:5-8, tellls us that- "knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin. For he who died has been free from sin" vs.6-7.
Remember everyday that, this is your position in Christ Jesus. It's total victory. It is finished, no more sacrifices.
Romans 6:11 says reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Your role is only believe on a daily basis and confess your place. Rom.10:9-10.
